Trek for Trich and Skin Picking!In lieu of our regular meeting @ Miller Children's Hospital in October, we will be doing a "Trek for Trich" in support of our national organization,TLC, during Trich Awareness Week 2012. We are going to walk the shoreline of Long Beach, in order to to help fund research, treatment and support for individuals with this disorder. We've chosen a location where we will encounter many people, because we want to help southern Californians understand that people who pull out their hair or pick their skin are not crazy, and we want others with this disorder to know that there is support...and hope. Too many people have suffered in silence, shame and isolation for too long. We don't want any more children and teenagers to suffer in silence. We are willing to share about our disorder by doing this fundraising walk, in order to teach the community and to reach others who have Trichotillomania so they know they're not alone.
